Today we kicked off our very first TTS classes where girls made their way through their classes with loads of excitement to discover more things around Heart property and laying the foundation of the first memories made here. 

We started out the day doing our morning “flag” where all campers and counselors met up to discuss general announcements. We then had a buffet styled breakfast and straight from there campers were off to their first period!

We had classes such as Strength and Conditioning on our lower court doing some awesome group exercises while Yoga was practicing different poses Red Light Green Light edition! Across the way, Jewelry was making beaded friendship bracelets, and down the hill our Cooking class was up and running making some yummy biscuits!

During our 5th and 6th period classes we were notified that there was lighting within a ten mile radius of us, so we then enacted our shelter in place procedure to ensure the campers safety while maintaining a calm and orderly manner. 

Tonight, we have our very first Mountain Top where Sisterhoods will go to their respective hills and find out the results of their 1st Term 2026 Firelighters! Everyone is super excited to go up on the hills and maintain that special tradition we had at our other location.

Everyday gets more and more exciting. Tomorrow we will have our first MWF classes and the Stewart Dance! Stay tuned for more!

Day 2 of classes here at The Heart were full of energy and excitement to discover what else was in store. The theme for this summer: discovery, new beginnings, and a whole lot of “firsts!” We are so happy that our campers are adapting well and growing more and more excited everyday. 

Our brand new flag pole was installed so we were able to join around it as we raised the very first flag here. After eating breakfast in Heart Hall, we broke out for classes to which campers are finding their way around very well – already leaving their footprints creating familiar spaces to walk. Arts and Crafts were working on their custom portfolios to store their drawings while Riflery was getting creative on how to perform target practice in a fun and safe way. 

After lunch we kicked off our War Canoe tryouts, and we were so happy to hear that our new boat worked exceptionally well. Tomorrow will be the last day of tryouts before teams are decided, and the girls are eager to get back in that boat. The spirit and intensity that War Canoe fosters within the Sisterhoods is often one of the most memorable parts about camp. 

We finished out our night by going over to Camp Stewart for our annual Stewart Dance. The girls were surprised with two pink buses where Taylor Swift was blaring and fun lights were all around. All of our girls were so excited and squealing with joy when the buses rounded the corner of Heart Hall. The boys gave out flowers to welcome the girls and we finished out the night with line dancing and a whole bunch of cookies. 

Tomorrow night we will hold our officer elections where girls will then elect their Secretkeepers, Songleaders, Scribes, and Wayshowers (an office held by a split term camp). We’re excited to find out the results and discover a new day!

This Saturday at The Heart was a beautiful day to set sail on our second round of TTS classes! The girls were excited to have their day start with yummy kolaches to fuel them through their first set of classes. 

We have competency tests underway at Swim class so we can place girls into swim levels so they can learn new skills and strengthen existing ones. Today in riflery they had a fun time with friendly competitions doing target practice before hitting the range. Some of our winning teams in their competition include a tie between Team Bullseye and The Mighty Green Chocolate Pickles, The Sharp Shooters, Team 2, Fierce Lions, and The Dolphins. In this competition each team practiced laying while shooting with a Nerf Gun and hitting their targets. 

For Officer Elections, the T-Birds wore their pajamas and the Crossed Arrows dressed in green from head to toe to show some froggy pride! Below are the different offices that the girls had the option to be elected for. Tomorrow we will find out the results!

Song Leader: They are the morale boosters. The Song Leaders start cheers before and after Mountain Top in the center of the circle. They also lead songs and cheers at events. 

Secret Keeper: Divisional leaders of the Sisterhood. They represent the division on Mountain Top and are role models for their divisions.

Scribe: The Scribes are the historians and artists of the Sisterhood. They are responsible for making signs and flyers to help members of the Sisterhood get excited for events to come. The cute papers in the mail each time are made by these girls. Scribes are also in charge of commemorating the term by creating a plaque that will be hung in the Kiva for years to come. 

Way Shower: Is the Split Term divisional representative for Minion, Sophomores, and Juniors (and older divisions as necessary). These girls share the responsibilities with both Song Leaders and Secret Keepers.

Campers are still rocking and rolling and making their way through camp! Tomorrow campers will be able to sleep in before having their cabin photos and heading to Worship. We will find out the results of our Officer Election and end the night with Counselor Vespers, where counselors dress in silly costumes and sing songs to the campers. We’re so excited to have our very first Sunday all together!

Our first Sunday at camp was nothing short of special and truly amazing. After sleeping in, cabin photos, and a buffet breakfast, we gathered at the waterfront where the lovely Audrey Holden played her guitar for us. As she led our worship, everyone was in awe about how surreal it was to be all together again listening to the sounds of nature and the strum of her guitar – just as Jane used to lead by. Reinventing and finding little moments of nostalgia brought us all together in such a special way. 

We had lunch, sang Sunday songs, and then had our extended siesta where girls were able to sneak in some extra rest. We followed by having our Officer Election where girls were put in office to lead their sisterhoods. The results will be shared tomorrow!

Girls were super excited to put their pizza cheers on display to be first in line for pizza, so we had some fierce competition fighting for their place. In first place….. We had seniors, then S’Minions, Teens, and Juniors. It was a close call, but luckily everyone still got their pizza!

Counselors got all dressed up to sing songs to campers. The head staff dressed as the cast of Shrek and the rest of the counselors were just dressed super silly to put a smile on the campers faces – mission was successful as it was a fun and entertaining night for everyone. 

Tomorrow we have Mountain Top where the younger girls will find out who their camp big sis is! The girls are super excited and so are we! Stay tuned for tomorrow!

We had a great Monday here at the Heart! Girls were able to adjust their schedules so that way it ensured they had the best time possible, and today those schedule changes were in effect! Girls trotted to and fro and had a great day!

We were excited to put finishing touches on the Mountain Tops, where each Sisterhood gathers to have sacred gatherings with one another. As a staff, we wanted to make these as special as we possibly could for them, so during orientation we put a lot of effort into putting them together. After dinner, the girls got all dressed in their Sisterhood uniforms and were eager for Big Sis and Lil Sis night! Before the girls went up their hills, they gathered for the big reveal and squeals of joy rang throughout camp. 

After Mountain Top, we all gathered together to announce the “Sisters of the Week” where a girl from each age division, including Heart LITes and counselors, are recognized for being a stand out person during the week. It’s so special coming together to celebrate the wins of one another and celebrating such a huge accomplishment.

Overall, it was another great day and camp has been so positive so far. The most special moments are when we all get to unite together to highlight the wins of our fellow sisters. We have a large array of things happening tomorrow and we’ll feel you in then!

Between Gold Rush and Field Day, we’ve been pretty booked and busy around here! The girls always love some good sisterhood events where there is some room for friendly competition. Starting with Gold Rush, the girls ran around with their big or lil sis and campers made their way around the camp collecting 8-trait tokens (the 8 traits of Jo Jones). At the end of the night counselors went around to count the pieces of “gold” (tokens). Whoever found the most was declared winner, and the winner was…..The Arrows! The girls had so much fun and it was a great opportunity for them to bond and work together. 

Next up we had our very first Field Day of the summer! It was a long and hot day but it was so much fun. We had different activities such as water buckets (which are like musical chairs), water balloon toss, balloon stomp, “Mine Field,” where the girls were blind folded and had to collect random little flowers, hula hoop competitions, and Survivor inspired puzzle games. In the evening we had bigger events such as dodgeball and speedball! We kept our girls super hydrated and fueled because Field Day calls for a lot of energy! Everyone gave their everything all day long and gave full effort into every activity they were a part of. After our long and hot day all the activities came to an end and we had a winner… which was… The T-Birds! It was an awesome day and we are so happy about how the day went. 

We can’t wait for more of these sisterhood competitions!

Today, we had a pretty chill but exciting day here following our Field Day yesterday. As usual, we had our typical routine of “Flag,” breakfast, classes, lunch, more classes, then an evening activity. In cooking today the girls were making some spicy sausage, guac, and pico de gallo. In Swimming, Archery, Riflery, and Pickleball the girls were making progress on their achievements and those girls were flying through them and so very excited about it. It’s been so fun for us to watch them have so much motivation to work towards their goals with integrity and an impressive level of grit. 

For our evening activity, we had Division Night which was super exciting and a whole lot of fun. The S’Minions took over the pickleball courts and had a neon glow party where they colored with chalk, collected an abundance of glow sticks, and danced their little hearts out. The Juniors had their ice cream night where they got to eat Cookie n’ Cream and played in the lawn with John and Elisabeth. Our Seniors were able to go off camp to Criders for a special night eating some super yummy food. Finally, the Teens had a slime party and devotion night. 

Tomorrow we unfortunately have to say goodbye to our 1A campers. We enjoyed them so much and are so thankful we had the opportunity to get to know them. We’re halfway through camp and it sure is flying by!

It was truly bittersweet having to say goodbye to our 1A campers. We had the most amazing time with them and were able to build such wonderful memories. It was so hard saying “goodnight and not goodbye” to such an amazing group of girls, but so wonderful being able to meet with the parents who raised them. It’s because of the trust that parents put into our Heart community that we can even have camp, so we truly have cannot thank you enough for letting us watch over your girls and learn from each and every one of them. 

After our 1A girls left, we finished our classes and were able to have some yummy sandwiches, a pajama party, and a movie night. For our movie night we blew up the projector and got to eat popcorn and soda while watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We turned in for a fairly early night so that way we could rest up the girls for Sunday! 

Every camper looks forward to Sundays because it’s sleep in day and buffet breakfast! We were able to sleep an extra hour before rolling into breakfast in our jammies. Afterwards, the girls played some backyard games before getting ready for our Worship. Worship is a time where we can all meet by the river for a time to connect with one another and the Earth around us. It’s such a serene experience and a reminder to slow down and take it all in. 

After worship it was time to prepare to welcome home our 1B campers! We have about 30 1B campers and we were so excited to be able to get them all to their cabins and afternoon activities. After our rest period the new girls completed a water competency test so we know they can be safe in the water, and after everyone was able to play board games, pickleball, basketball, do arts and crafts, or simply hangout and read on the turf right in front of Heart Hall. 

After flag and before pizza cheers, we had a bead ceremony for the new campers where each of them drew a bead to find out what sisterhood they were in. If they drew a green bead that means they are now a part of the Strong Sisterhood of the Crossed Arrows, and if they drew a blue bead they are now a part of the Powerful Sisterhood of the Thunder Birds. Both sisterhoods are equally special and provide so much meaning at camp. Every Sunday we do pizza cheers where each division comes up with a cheer revolving around pizza. Each division presents and the most outstanding performance gets to get in line first. It’s a special and super fun tradition we do every Sunday. 

Last, our T-Birds had their Vespers where they all dressed up in silly costumes and sang songs revolving around sisterhood and camp. Vespers are always so meaningful and we were so excited to see what the T-Birds had in store for us. 

It’s been an eventful weekend here at HOH, and it’s only gonna get more eventful from here! This week we have another field day, a pickleball extravaganza, a carnival, and overnight. Lots to look forward to, and we’ll update you every step of the way!

Another great and busy day in the books for us here! Today we had 1B officer elections and “Warm and Fuzzy” Mountain Top. Thankfully it didn’t rain as much as we thought it would, so we got to resume classes as normal! It was the first day of Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes for our 1B campers, and it was such a fun day because they have really folded in so seamlessly. 

The split B campers got to run for an officer within their sisterhood that’s called the “Wayshower,” and their position is to be the positive cheerleaders that everyone can count on to bring the energy.

Today was a wonderful day at Heart, filled with classes, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition.

Campers spent the day enjoying their regular activities, continuing to settle into camp life, strengthen friendships, and develop new skills. Whether they were creating in Arts & Crafts, perfecting their aim in Archery and Riflery, making a splash at the waterfront, or learning something new in one of their other activities, the girls stayed busy throughout the day.

Tonight brought one of our favorite all-camp events—the Big Dill Pickle Extravaganza! Campers gathered for an evening packed with pickle-themed fun and pickleball-inspired challenges. From relay races and team competitions to silly games that had everyone laughing, the event was full of energy, teamwork, and camp spirit.

Throughout the evening, campers worked together to earn points for their teams while showing great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. The competition was close, and there were plenty of memorable moments along the way.

While the final scores have been tallied, the winning team will have to wait just a little longer. The results will be announced tomorrow morning, and excitement is already building across camp as campers eagerly speculate about who will take home the title.

As another busy day comes to a close, the sounds of laughter and conversation continue to fill camp. Every day friendships grow stronger, confidence grows a little more, and new memories are made. We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

oday began much like any great day at Heart, with campers spending the morning enjoying their classes and activities. As the term progresses, it is always fun to see campers becoming more confident in their activities, trying new things, and making the most of every opportunity camp has to offer.

As exciting as the morning was, everyone knew the real event of the day was still to come.

Tonight was Carnival Night, one of the most anticipated evenings of the term! This year's theme was a Texas State Fair-inspired "Hill Country Hullabaloo," and camp transformed into a bustling midway filled with games, food, music, and excitement.

Campers spent the evening making their way from booth to booth, trying their luck at a variety of carnival games and challenges. From giant dice games and ring tosses to basketball shootouts, golf darts, cornhole, and other creative attractions, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Along the way, girls earned raffle tickets that could be exchanged for chances to win prizes later in the evening.

Of course, no carnival would be complete without treats. Campers enjoyed fresh popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, and other fair-inspired favorites while visiting with friends and taking in all the excitement.

The photo booth was busy throughout the evening as campers captured memories with their cabinmates and friends, while the karaoke stage drew enthusiastic performers and plenty of cheering from the crowd. One of the highlights of the night was the cakewalk, which brought lots of laughter and a little friendly competition as campers hoped to walk away with a sweet prize.

As the evening came to a close, raffle winners were announced, prizes were claimed, and campers headed back to their cabins tired but happy after an unforgettable night. Carnival continues to be one of those special Heart traditions that reminds us how much fun it is when the entire camp comes together.

The laughter could be heard all across camp tonight, and if the smiles on the girls' faces were any indication, this year's Hill Country Hullabaloo was a tremendous success.

Howdy from The Heart!

Yesterday was Color the Camp Field Day. It started with all-camp and division activities such as Cat & Mouse, Gaga Ball, and Tug O’ War, then headed into the Practice War Canoe Race right before lunch. It was a very hot day, so after the race the whole camp got to get into the river for a nice cool-down and quick trip down the river Flume. 

Both War Canoe Teams did a fantastic job. They raced one at a time in front of the whole camp, with their final times being 53.5 seconds - 53.63 seconds in favor of the PWC boat. 

After lunch and a nice, long extended siesta, the campers got to compete in more division activities for individual points until dinner. Some favorites were the Firelighter Jello Feed, Soccer Dribble Relay, and Minion Carry where our youngest girls got to be carried in a big bin by the oldest girls. Following dinner, campers competed in track races “color run” style. Each camper had a packet of colored powder to throw on the runners as they passed by. It was an evening filled with fun, laughter, and lots of showering before bedtime.

The 1st Term 2026 Color the Camp Field Day was overall in favor of the Thunderbirds, but everyone had an amazing time, and it was a great way to mix-up our normal schedule! 

Today was an exciting day at Heart as campers spent the morning enjoying their regular classes before turning their attention to one of the most anticipated traditions of the term—Overnight Campouts!

Campers attended first through fourth periods before returning to their cabins to pack their gear and prepare for an evening under the stars. By afternoon, each division was headed to its overnight destination. Our Teens traveled to Mo-Ranch, while the Minions and Sophomores camped closer to home near the lodge. The Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to be among the first groups to experience our brand-new overnight site. The beautiful views and fresh surroundings added even more excitement as the girls made their way to camp.

Once everyone arrived, the campers worked together to set up their campsites and get settled in. The afternoon was spent enjoying time by the water, with divisions taking turns swimming and cooling off before dinner preparations began.

As evening approached, campers gathered around their cooking areas to prepare one of Heart's overnight traditions—Hunter's Stew. There is always plenty of teamwork involved, and somehow the meal always tastes a little better when it's cooked outdoors.

After dinner, each group enjoyed a campfire program filled with songs, laughter, and some truly hilarious skits. As darkness settled over camp, the girls roasted marshmallows, made s'mores, and enjoyed spending time with friends away from the usual routines of camp life.

With full stomachs, tired legs, and plenty of memories already made, campers settled into their sleeping bags for a night beneath the Texas stars. Overnight campouts have long been one of the highlights of a Heart summer, and tonight was no exception.

After waking up from a night under the stars, campers made their way back to their cabins for a later breakfast and a chance to settle back in after their overnight adventures. We started classes at third period today, giving everyone plenty of time to unpack, clean up, and catch their breath. While the morning classes were full of activity and fun, we certainly missed our Teens, who were still enjoying a little more time away at Mo-Ranch.

By lunchtime, we were whole again. Campers returned from their overnights with plenty of stories to share. From clever pranks and hilarious skits to an unfortunate encounter with a sprinkler system, the girls had no shortage of adventures to recount. The laughter and storytelling continued all afternoon as friends compared notes from their different overnight experiences.

After a busy few days, we all welcomed a much-needed extended siesta. To help everyone recharge, fifth period was canceled, giving campers extra time to rest, write letters, visit with friends, or simply enjoy a slower pace for an afternoon.

Following sixth period, we headed straight into one of the campers' favorite traditions—Movie Night! Dinner was served picnic-style with an "eat out" on the lawn, followed by popcorn and a showing of Hopper. The relaxed evening gave everyone a chance to unwind together, and the movie ended early enough to allow for some much-appreciated extra sleep.

Meanwhile, our War Canoe girls carried on a Heart tradition of their own. During movie night, they gathered in the office to watch the boys' War Canoe race. It is a tradition that has been passed down through generations of campers, and one that reminds the girls of the teamwork, dedication, and spirit that make War Canoe so special.

As we head into the second half of the term, camp is settling into a wonderful rhythm. Friendships continue to grow, confidence is building, and every day seems to bring a new memory worth keeping. We are looking forward to another great day tomorrow!

Sunday at Heart is always a little different from the rest of the week, offering campers a chance to slow down, reflect, and enjoy some special traditions.

The morning began with cabin photos and activity portraits. Throughout the morning, campers gathered with their cabinmates and friends to capture memories that will help tell the story of their summer at Heart. Between photos, the girls enjoyed games and activities together while preparing for one of the most meaningful parts of the day.

Later in the morning, campers gathered for our Teen-led Worship service. Our Teen campers did a wonderful job leading the program and sharing messages about what they have learned through their camp experiences. Their reflections on friendship, courage, kindness, and personal growth served as a reminder of the many ways camp shapes young lives, both during the summer and long after campers return home.

After lunch, campers enjoyed an extended siesta. One lucky camper, Sophia, was able to cash in one of the prizes she won during Carnival. Along with a group of friends, she enjoyed a special screening of The Parent Trap complete with Sonic drinks—a fun way to celebrate her win and enjoy a little extra downtime.

Following siesta, campers had the opportunity to enjoy several favorite activities. Riflery and the pool were open, giving girls a chance to spend time doing activities they love. The highlight of the afternoon, however, was a special Big-Little Sister Pickleball Tournament. The girls had been requesting this event for days, and it certainly lived up to the excitement. Courts were full of laughter, cheering, and plenty of friendly competition as campers partnered with their Big or Little Sisters for an afternoon of fun.

As evening approached, camp gathered for Flags, where the Senior girls once again claimed victory in the night's Amazing Pizza Cheers competition. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and camp spirit continue to impress both campers and staff alike.

The day will conclude with one of Heart's most treasured traditions—Vespers. Tonight, the Arrows will present the program, sharing a thoughtful and meaningful service for the camp community. As the sun beigns to set and campers gather together, it is a beautiful way to reflect on the friendships, experiences, and memories being made each day.

It was a wonderful Sunday at Heart—full of fun, reflection, laughter, and tradition. Days like today remind us just how special camp can be.

Today was another wonderful day at Heart as campers enjoyed a full schedule of classes and activities. It is hard to believe that we are already nearing the end of our Monday-Wednesday-Friday activity rotation, and the girls are making the most of every minute.

One highlight of the day came from Cooking, where campers prepared picadillo. The delicious smells drifted all the way to the office and had everyone wishing they could join the class! We have a feeling many campers will be heading home with some impressive new culinary skills and a few favorite recipes to share with their families.

Meanwhile, our Archery and Riflery campers continue to make progress toward their achievement levels. It has been exciting to watch the girls gain confidence and improve their skills throughout the term. Of course, the pool remains one of the most popular spots on camp, and our campers are taking advantage of every opportunity to cool off, swim, and have fun with friends.

During Gathering today, campers learned about one of Heart's most cherished traditions—Mountain Top. In an exciting surprise, the counselors were invited to participate alongside the campers this year, a privilege usually reserved only for the girls. There was plenty of anticipation as everyone waited to discover which hill they would climb.

After dinner, campers gathered with their Sisterhoods for cheers before making their way up the hills together. At the top, they were welcomed with encouraging words, small gifts, and meaningful moments shared with friends and counselors alike. Traditions like Mountain Top create memories that stay with Heart Girls long after summer ends.

After Milk Line, campers headed back to their cabins for a well-earned night's rest following another full day of activities, traditions, and friendship.
